What is Anti-D Injection?

We frequently encounter this question from pregnant women, and we reassure them that it is not a treatment required for everyone.

Section 02

If the pregnant woman has a Rh-negative blood type such as A-, B-, O-, or AB-, it is necessary to check the husband’s blood type. If the husband is Rh-positive, an Indirect Coombs test must be performed to ensure that there is no prior sensitization in the mother against the Rh factor.

Section 03

Anti-D injection is given to the pregnant woman during pregnancy in the following cases:

Section 04

If vaginal bleeding occurs at any time after the eighth week.

Section 05

If the pregnant woman is exposed to direct trauma to the abdomen or any medical procedure that may cause mixing of fetal and maternal blood.

Section 06

In cases of miscarriage, according to the doctor’s recommendations.

Section 07

As a preventive measure in the seventh or eighth month of pregnancy.

Section 08
